September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and Back To School at ICPYAS

September is an exciting month around here!  Not only do we start offering our child abuse prevention programs within the Central Indiana Schools, but we are also kicking off Suicide Prevention Awareness Month!  While the Treasure Our Children Gala which is usually in September has been postponed until 2021, we are still working hard to raise awareness of this important cause and reduce the stigma of suicide in our community.

QPR offered FREE in the Month of September.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer- the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. QPR is not a form of counseling or treatment. Rather it is intended to offer hope through positive action. By learning QPR you will come to recognize the warning signs, clues and suicidal communications of someone in trouble and gain skills to act vigorously to prevent a possible tragedy.

Back to School

We are excited to be back in schools this month.   It looks quite a bit different as we are offering our programs all virtually at least for the remainder of 2020.  Through creative planning and a team that worked well together throughout the pandemic, we are able to pivot our programs to continue to meet the needs of our community and partners.  To learn more about what we are doing, visit our website.
